Everything becomes relaxation

Once we tap relaxation,
we learn to operate sensations and emotions
with a playful, open attitude, and
everything becomes relaxation.

We know that within every feeling or sensation
there is the pure energy
– that both `negative’ and `positive’ emotions
are flexible manifestations of energy,

Relax completely…

Trust your experience
and follow the deepening current of meditation.

When feeling arises, breathe into it and let it open up.

Do not fixate on it, and do not ignore it.

Relax completely.

Relax the interpreters,
relax the judgmental thinking,
dialogue-making observers,
and relax the radar-like sensitivity
that feeds this speedy jumping quality.

The Joy of Being

Fostering lightness, joy, and compassion…

The density of confusion and pain can be transmuted into contemplation and fullness.

We need simply to relax, allow our breathing to become calm,
and watch our experience mindfully, without judgment.

In this way we learn to foster lightness, joy, and compassion in our lives,
instead of resistance and disappointment.

Over time, we become naturally cheerful and find meaning in whatever we do.

Feelings can be transformed…

Layer by layer, our sense perceptions, thoughts, and feelings can be transformed. Each sensation has subtle gradations and shifts within it.

Yet the deeper we go, the more we relax into the sensation, the more open and spacious the sensation itself becomes.

We can explore these layers by working with a single exercise over time.

Finding meaning in whatever we do

We can develop a close, reliable relationship
with our experience.

As this friendship grows,
we discover that transcendence
is not found somewhere beyond, or in some other time:
Whatever happens in our lives
can serve to embody enlightenment.

Even the density of confusion and pain
can be transmuted into contemplation and fullness.

We need simply to relax,
allowing our breath to become calm,
and watching our experience mindfully, without judgment.

In this way, we learn to foster lightness, joy,
and compassion in our lives.

We become naturally cheerful
and find meaning in whatever we do.
