Many of us are in a state of habitual, perpetual conflict
with ourselves, as the different facets of our embodiment
engage in ongoing arguments.

While these varied parts of us ultimately want the same thing –
to be at peace, to be comfortable,
each one has, so to speak, a different opinion
about how to accomplish this aim.

Over time, we learn that we have the power
to nourish ourselves at every moment.

We find we need
less and less outward support
to provide sweetness to our senses and feelings.

We do not have to rely upon pleasurable experiences in order to know joy.
