Careful observation reveals an alert, poised quality, a kind of expectancy or readiness.
If we balance ourselves in this quality,
we can sense a subtle tension supporting it,
or feel the vibrations of our senses powering this readiness.
Although apparently still, the mind in its readiness is already reaching out and inviting stimulation.
Like a frog sitting motionless
until a movement within its range
stimulates a lightning flicker of its tongue,
our minds are prepared for instant response.
