To practice the Dharma is difficult for us, because we live in difficult times. Today, as everyone struggles for enjoyment, money, power, or position, there is much to distract us.

To follow the Dharma takes patience, effort, and discipline. It takes time to develop understanding and skill in meditation. Even when we have the motivation to practice, we may not have the time or the opportunity. Or we may not find a teacher we can trust.

There remain some true teachers in this dark age of the Kali Yuga, but there are many others who can waste our time. They may give us what we think are very impressive teachings or even powers, but these may of no real value in the end.
